exfill®
Raffia & Ropes
Depending on the region, raffia production is a major and most significant process involved in the plastic production for industrial and food packaging. The production of raffia, especially that of woven fabrics from it, is a demanding application with high pressure on the pricing of the final product.
The typical polymer used in this application is PP and HDPE, or a mixture of both, depending on the final application.
A new generation of Exfill® products based on premium HDPE, PP and Vistamaxx resins are suitable for a variety of raffia tapes for enhancing or maintaining the tenacity and elongation of the final tapes. The typical dosage of Exfill® products used in raffia production can vary from 5-25%, depending on the required final mechanical properties and application of the product. For rope production, Kompuestos has developed several products that can be used, depending on a final requirement of the rope.
The benefits of using Exfill® in raffia production are the following:
• Antifibrilation
• Cost reduction
• Soft touch’
• Higher opacity
• Maintaining or improving elongation while decreasing the costs
• Maintaining or improving tenacity while decreasing the costs.
